How does one update schools on coursework grades? For example I'm currently taking Ochem this summer and my transcripts I just found out won't be ready until august. So I'm going to submit my application before and list them as future/current coursework. Is there a place in the secondary or how does one go about doing this?

1) Call the Admissions Office and find out if they welcome updates
2) IF they do, then simply mail or supply proof of your updated grades.

I just checked and my two top schools don't accept updates. They just use what's on the verified primary. I'm guessing this will put me at a big disadvantage applying without Ochem on my transcript. I'm getting As in both classes but my transcripts would not be ready until august. Am I really hurting my app if everything else is otherwise strong?

Hmmm...this is a tough one. Obviously the schools must have a requirement for Orgo? I assume one year? So if you don't have the course yet, and they don't accept updates, then in thier eyes, [I surmise] they want your transcript to be up to date for their pre-reqs.

Perhaps ask in the school-specific forums if any of the current students was in the same boat you are, and how they got around the problem.

Worst-case scenario? Delay applying until next year, or don't apply to these two schools?

They said it was fine so long as I completed by January 2015. I'm guessing that doesn't mean it's a death sentence?

Is it necessary to prove updated grades? I want to update schools I've interviewed at about this semester's grades. Can I just say my GPA or will they expect some sort of proof? I plan to simply email the admissions office... attach transcripts maybe? Would it work to copy and paste an unofficial transcript for the term into a word doc and attach it.......

If you've a;ready interviewed, unless it was this past week or two, then you're probably already accepted. Updates would just gild the lily.

Sending them your GPA without any proof would prove, well, nothing, would it?

IF you're on a wait list, and you made all As this semester, then you'll need to send official proof to be taken seriously, again, IF the school accepts updates.

You only send updates when you have a significant update, like a publication, a new activity, etc. Grades aren't worthy of an update.

Thanks for your reply. Do you think attaching an unofficial transcript to an email is good enough? How would you suggest I send proof? I feel like sending official transcripts to each school would be too much before an acceptance.

I am writing letters of interest. Then I am throwing in an update of a new activity and 4.0 with intense courses. One school I'm on a wait list and they said, "Tell us why you want to be here at x school of medicine if you want to get off the WL." I am sending them a LOI and throwing in grades and an activity. A couple schools I interviewed at the dean said to update them about grades especially if it's a 4.0...

If the school welcome sit, then an unofficial transcript should be OK.
