how to structure update letter?

I had a couple of manuscripts I mentioned in my activities section as submitted that have recently been published. I was thinking of sending a letter with their pubmed listings. Do i need to include anything else? Any description of the papers/role/or any school specific stuff?

I would include as much detail as possible while trying to be brief and not bore the ADCOMs. Does that make sense? Give credit where credit is due, be sure that it's clear how you're helping people, but don't go on and on.

I'm curious whether any adcoms here actually think this is worth their time as an update. It's the sort of thing you can mention in an interview. Exception being if the publications were in prestigious/high impact journals (e.g. Nature.)
