Hi SDNers,

Because I'm a music minor there will be some music courses that are repeatable for credit. Say I take one of these courses twice and get A's, will DO schools consider both A's toward my gpa? I'm afraid the DO grade forgiveness system will replace one with the other.

Thanks!

Yes, it will replace the A with the same A if it is the same exact class. Although I don't see the benefit in taking the same course twice...

Oh sorry I forgot to mention that although the course codes are the same, like mus15, the "special topics" are different every quarter.

Some courses are performance based and the school lets us us repeat the course for credits for a certain number of units

No, that is bad advice. Aacomas will only replace courses that you designate for repeat. The system doesn't do it for you. The performance score won't repeat.

The schools will consider both A's toward your GPA. When you want a grade replaced you have to manually select it for grade replacement yourself when you enter your grades. I know this because I was in marching band at my school for 4 years and because of that I took the same class over and over again. DO schools will consider both of your A's toward your GPA.
