How do schools verify shadowing hours?

On my Optomcas I listed emails and phone numbers for the doctors I shadowed during college but I did not shadow most of them for longer than 2 days so they probably won't remember me (except the ones who wrote me letters of recommendation). Is it going to be a problem? do schools actually call to verify hours? If so, would it be a good idea to contact the people I shadowed to tell them they'll probably be asked to verify my shadowing hours?
