How do we go about taking the CASPer?

Do all schools require a CASPer test? If so, do we need to sign up to take the test now or do we wait until secondaries roll out?

Take it as soon as you can. A lot of schools now require it.

Just crack a beer open and do the best you can. Theres really no way to prepare for it in my opinion.

Not all schools require it, but a lot do. You can't really prepare for it, other than looking up ethical scenarios and how to answer them. I took mine right around the time I submitted my primaries so I could have it in around the same time as my secondaries.

Just another ridiculous test that was put in as requirement that has nothing to do with who you are... To me it seems like trying to fix a admission process thats not broken.

Or a complete money grab....seeing as you need to pay more money for your results.

Am I right in that only ARCOM, DMU, LUCOM, OSUCOM, PacNW, Touro, and Western require it?

I could not honestly say. I'm sure theres a list somewhere. PCOM didnt require it and that's the only DO school I paid attention to, though I know I sent it to some other DO schools and a bunch of MD. It's been a year or so since I did this so my memory is hazy.

I believe DMU is optional.

ARCOM is optional, but recommended. I think Touro is only for their NY campus.

When you sign up for the test it asks what schools you want to send it to. If a school you are applying to is on that list, then mark it. If the school doesn’t require CASPer then it’s not on the list.

This is not accurate. Not every school listed in the Casper list requires the exam. i.e DMUCOM

Well I am already taking it so it is not that big of a deal to pay $10 to send it to DMUCOM. I don't think there is any downside to sending it to all schools that require it or say it is optional, unless you are a sociopath and you expect to bomb the CASPer.
