For the application, I know it can be beneficial to find a theme (commitment toward helping environment, or love of pediatrics, etc...), but I cannot find a theme for myself. Any help is appreciated!

Shadowing: ~100 hours primary care and EM combined
Clinical work: 1000+ hrs CNA
Research: ~200 hrs genetics bench research (no pubs; for class credit)
clinical volunteering: 100+ hours in ED at level 1 trauma center
non clinical volunteering: 100+hours at a soup kitchen
Leadership: college club sports team vice president and coach; fraternity treasurer and scholarship chair head; swim instructor

The activities themselves don’t really paint the story as much as your experiences within those. Try to answer some common secondary type questions: diversity, challenge, failure, why medicine, etc.. that’s when it came together for me. Don’t get fixated on the things you mentioned

commitment toward helping environment, or love of pediatrics

What makes you unique? What makes you tick?
