Yes. If you're applying to Match schools, you have to get a Match # before submitting. I suppose if you are only applying to non-Match programs it doesn't matter.

technically it does not matter if you have a match # yet as you can always supply the programs with it later if needed. you can still go ahead w/pass. its just easier to have it ahead of time - google 'postdoctoral dental matching program' and fill out the form w/like $70 bucks
Thanks for the replies. This is whay I'm confused. On their website it says "A Preliminary List of Participating Programs will be posted on this web site by August 1, 2005." Does that mean you can't get a match # until then?
