I graduated with a double major, Cell Biology (BS) and Political Science (BA). I earned one diploma that states it's a Bachelor of Science.

Even thought I earned two degrees, at once, do I list this as 2 degrees on AADSAS? Or do I list it as one, and indicated that PoliSci is my second major?

Thanks all!

If your transcript indicates that you've completed your double major, go ahead and put it as two majors.

He is getting a BS and a BA, that is known as a double degree.

but the poster above mine daneosaurus say that 2 majors are different from 2 degrees.

Well, I have BS in chemistry and BS in biological science. Those 2 are different departments. That is counted as double major double degree and double diploma as well.

I need to call AADSAS and inquire about this, but I think it's one degree. My school said, and most like AADSAS will say, that it's one degree. Unless you went to school twice, and earned two bachelors with two diplomas...then you list it as two degrees. But if not, it's one degree...just with two majors.

Just wanted to know if anyone knew more info than I did!

My undergrad institution gave out 2 diplomas, two bachelors for 2 different majors from 2 different departments. They count these as two degrees

For example, chemistry and biology
biology and economics
or like you

Oh wow thats awesome. Yeah then definitely you'd list two degrees on AADSAS. Unfortunately even though I earned a BS and BA, I only received one diploma. Guess it's one degree!

on AADSAS's institution section, they put degrees expected I put yes. they ask for smth else i forgot and i just put bio and chem. idk if that means 2 degrees or just 2 majors. its been a long time since i filled that out (1 month ago)

Interesting. My wife double majored in sociology and criminal justice. At our school, a double major is not 2 degrees. However, if the OP got a BA and a BS, that is two different degrees.

It really depends on the school. Larger universities with multiple "schools" will probably give 2 degrees/diplomas, but smaller schools probably will not, especially liberal arts colleges. Obviously there will be exceptions to this but you need to go with what your school lists on your transcript, etc.

Hi,

I was also a double major but I received two diplomas. At my university you can earn a dual degree if you take a certain amount of credits. But I think in your situation it might just mean a double major but one degree. What's on your transcript should be what you put on aadsas
