How do you know if AMCAS got your transcript?

How do you know if AMCAS got your transcript and matched it to your name correctly and verified it? thanks!

With AMCAS, you never know anything. Just keep checking with them to be sure that they got it. You just kind of have to assume that they matched the correct transcript with the correct AMCAS - I am sure its a rare mistakte made. At any rate, the admissions offices will notice immediately if something is goofy. If someone has the same name as you the ods are that they didn't go to the same school, same major, etc.

Yeah, but, how do you check and makesure? Do you call the medical school admissions offices? Or do you call AMCAS? And how long does it take AMCAS to match your transcript to your name, typically, after you've had it sent to them? Thanks! please help!

I just kept calling them back until they said that they had received it. Then, I checked my status page everyday until it was verified. If you encounter a problem where you sent in your transcript and two months later your info is still not verified then I would definitely call again. Don't wait on AMCAS. They made so many mistakes with my info this past year that I was calling them 2-3 times a week because I just couldn't trust them anymore. To them, it's a job and most of the people didn't seem to care about what was going on with my app stuff but it's your future they're handling so, definitely call and bug them.

I agree with zealous- you just have to keep checking. After submitting my transcripts in July and my AMCAS in August last year, I first got an email that everything was fine. I was stupid to believe that and not check up, because in late OCTOBER I got another email from AMCAS stating that they never received one of my transcripts . . . the school actually had a record of sending it to them, but apparently it got "lost" somewhere in the AMCAS universe. Because of the delay my AMCAS wasn't "verified" until December, but luckily I still got in this year. Moral of the story: DEFINITELY check up on everything AMCAS related!!

stupid question, but you send in your transcripts only once you have submitted?

when they have matched your grades that you entered with the transcript that is mailed in, there is a mark on the online amcas application that you can print out.

Personally..I would call AMCAS. But expect to be on hold...forever!!!!!!!!
That is the only way, I wish they had an updated status check page, like TDMSAS does.. oh well
