How Do You Know when LORs have arrived?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Does anybody know how you can tell if a letter writter has sent your LOR to ERAS? Does the website tell you when it arrived?

Before you apply, ask your school's ERAS coordinator (usually works in the Student Affairs office) if s/he has rec'd your LORs for scanning. At our school, she's really great about letting us know via email.

After you apply and have designated a letter-writer to at least one program applied to, you can use the online ADTS tracking feature to check on that letter (this would be after Sept 1 obviously). Also you can submit ERAS even if some letters are missing (I only have 2 so far, 2 more still waiting on...)

NOTE--This of course applies to students at US med schools. If you're not, then I'm not sure how to check before 9/1.

Can't wait to submit this electronic beast tomorrow! Good luck :luck:

The way it works at my school.... Letter writers mail their letters to my school. I receive an email from the office of student affairs telling me the letter has been received. I assign documents on eras. I track when the letter has been uploaded to eras by my school and when the letter has been downloaded by programs using the "track applications" button on eras. This function is able to be used after you have applied to programs (after sep 1).
