How do you mail your secondary application?

Do you use certified mail? Or just mail it in like a regular letter? Thanks!

do you trust the US postal system? I thought not. Go Certified.
 
I just made copies of my apps and sent them regular mail, then followed up to make sure they got them.

i actually wouldn't go certified. they'll have to sign for it and that means problems if mail is delivered just before the university's post office opens (happened to me, delivery attempted at 8:50, no one to sign for it, and they kept it at the regional post office until the school picked it up -- i had to send another copy). this happened to some others i know also.

i send mine priority mail with delivery confirmation. that doesnt require signature, but you can check online to see if it was delivered and when. 👍
 
I thought for a second you meant how do you actually mail them, and I was going to say:

Put teh application in an envelope, write the address in the middle, put your address in the top left corner, throw a few stamps on the top left corner, lick envelope closed, place in mailbox.

But if you make copies, you can send them through regular mail. Just follow up, or check your account to see when the check was cashed.
 
Yeah - I think certified is a little over the top. Not to mention pricey.

I went with good ole' regular mail. Made copies just in case, but it was never an issue. All of mine got to their destination in good time and with no problems.

I'd rather pay the $0.39 and MAYBE have to resend one than to be paying $5 a pop to mail them.
 
regular mail. certified mail doesn't really add a layer of security to your package.

I sent certified. I'd rather pay 3 bucks a piece and know the thing got there without having to deal with the admissions office.
 
Good ol' regular mail...stick it, lick it, drop it.
 
I sent all mine regular mail. One stamp (two if it was really thick or had a picture in it). Everything got there in varying times (1-4 weeks). It doesn't matter how you send it, the delay is with the medical school processing it. Thus, saving yourself one or two days by sending it priority is just a waste of money, when its still going to take three weeks for them to figure out that they have it.
 
What does it mean and on what basis do most schools screen and especially U pitt?

I used FedEx's cheapest option. I get a big discount so it wasn't that expensive and it was worth it to have the tracking number and the name of the person who signed for the application.
