What can a university administration do to ensure that every single person dresses appropriately? Do you think that by having guards at the main entrance can deter these students?
And students who are caught, what can we do to them? I was talking to my housemate the other day, and we came up with blacklisting them for certain things, for example, they can't attend PBLs etc
What do yall think? Fire away!

I think they'd probably just fail the student if he didn't want to play along with the whole "professional dress while on the wards" thing.

its kinda embarrasing not to come professional anyway...everyone looks at you. and the patients prolly respect you much less.

aww the days i used to go to the hosp with jeans. it was horrible. i think that the environment does the job by itself.

When you hit the wards, if you're not dressed appropriately, don't worry...you'll know. 🙂

My sister just finished her third year, and they would not let the students wear scrubs in the ER! They wanted them to dress professionally. So, I guess the students looked very professional with blood and puke caked all over their blouses and ties.

Argh..these idiots just don't care...why can't administration realize that they should just shoot them? 😀

why wouldn't a person dress appropriately?

In training people as to what is appropriate as is with the dress code, but this system can be applied to anything: dinner etiquette, making someone pay their rent on time, ect.

In chronological order:
Tell the people what is appropriate, and inform them of this warning system for Offending Parties.
1st Offense: Spoken Warning, inform Offending Party of this warning system
2nd Offense: Written Warning, inform Offending Party of this warning system
3rd Offense: Public Flogging
4th Offense: Dismissal

I've wanted to impliment this system so many times for various reasons in all kinds of organizations that I've been involved in, but nobody wants to listen to me.

DUde, you've got a supporter in me 🙂
I don't think 1st and 2nd offense warnings etc work, they should go straight to the flogging and dismissal
