How do you multiquote a post?

I've read the FAQ on this but it has not been helpful.

(If you want to post replies to multiple posts you can select them by clicking the multiquote button
multiquote_off.gif
. This button will change to indicate that you've selected it. Clicking post reply will then bring you to the full editor with all the posts quoted.)

Could someone more clearly explain how to break up a quote so that various points can be responded to independently?

Sure. If you'd like to break up a quote, you can just edit the HTML tags. Not all browsers will support this (I think some just interpret the quote automatically, so you can't see the text).

But if your browser shows it, find the part where you want to stop. Type "[/QUOTE]". Then, when you want the quote to resume type "

Testing 1,2,3...

But if your browser shows it, find the part where you want to stop. Type ... Then, when you want the quote to resume type....

It seems everyone has figured out what they wanted, but to be clear what you are asking about here is not called multi-quoting.
 
Couldn't he just use the space bar and enter keys?

Edit: this thread is from over a year ago...never mind haha
