How do you send DAT scores to Hawaii

Don't...that school sucks!

They aren't listed as a school on the ADA site, so how do we forward our scores?
There's a Hawaii dental school? Is it accredited?

Supposedly they are opening one up affiliated with the pharm school out there. As far as accreditation, the pharm school so far has not been able to get it.

I agree with dexadental. Unless you are hardset on studying in Hawai'i for four years, I would not do it. Not only is it a new school with tons of new school problems, but if their sister school for pharamcy is not accredited, why would their dental school get accredited?

Your overall points are valid ones, but the logic leading to them isn't correct. Accreditation of a pharmacy school has nothing to do with accreditation of a dental school.

Granted, indirectly it may shed some light on how the school handles itself and is administered, which is probably beneficial for applicants to investigate.

I should mention that AADSAS only sends applications to accredited dental schools (although there are a couple accredited schools that don't utilize AADSAS), and thus far I haven't seen any word of the supposed Hawaii school having any ADA site visits, much less initial accreditation.

I noticed that while I was writing the reply but I was hoping no one would spot me on it. 🙂

Hawaii, although not accredited, is one of the schools that AADSAS sends your application to. It is included in the Aadsas checklist of schools you want your application sent to.

I called ADA because I was going to send my DAT scores to Hawaii and they said to send in some kind of written document and 10$ because you cannot do it online as of right now. I however regret sending my application through AADSAS to Hawaii (there go's another 75$) because their school if they even have one is a joke. How many seats will they even have available? They dont even have a website or any info on the school. I have been trying to contact someone in Hawaii forever it seems like, and even people in the hygiene program dont know anything about the dental school. Also keep in mind that they also request 100$ just to process your application, which is outragous (I think that is the most by any school). Sorry for the long post Dr2bsoon but I would seriously rethink your situation before you fork over lots of cash for a school that may not be worth it.

Thanks guys. I guess it is a sign that Hawaii isnt even listed on the ADA dental school list to send DAT scores to. If they were a real school ready to educate students into dentists the ADA would be ready to forward our scores to Hawaii. I am getting desperate to be accepted as this is my 2nd try, but and extra application cycle is worth not having 4 years of woes and a possible wasted education.

Hawaii has a really strong clinical program. Thumbs up.

Just found the explanation on this site. Scroll down to the bottom and see it yourself.

"Note: Hawaii College of Dental Medicine is a developing school that will be accepting its first class in September 2006. It is actively seeking accreditation through the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation. All students will be kept abreast of the progress on accreditation-eligible status."

They have yet to open their doors and if the pharmacy school is any indication of how the corporation handles problems, runs its administration, and conducts student relations then I would seriously reconsider any decision to apply to that school.

I went to the "pharmacy school" in Hawaii (HICP) this past year and from personal experience I can tell you that if you want to save tens of thousands of dollars, millions of headaches and your sanity, stay the hell away from Hawaii or anywhere having to do with Pacific Educational Services or "Pacific Blue University." The pharmacy school will never be accredited and a lot of my friends and I have been royally screwed by the extremely greedy and unethical bunch of degenerates who ran that school. It is currently under control of a dictator who wont let the students even talk to ACPE or anyone else regarding the problems that are going on there. He also just fired the ENTIRE administration and the school has ZERO full time faculty members, just a couple of part timers.

The dental school will be ran by Dr. Orr of Las Vegas (who also taught pharmacy law at HICP for a week lol), who is actually very credible and an amazing oral maxillofacial surgeon. However, the corporation is so incredibly corrupt that his credentials and good intentions will be pulverized as no one will ever graduate from the dental school either and PES (Pacific Educational Services) will collect another 7.2 million dollars in tuition as they did from my class and never give out a degree worth the paper its printed on.

Even if you have NO other choice what so ever and have been denied by every dental school in the county, you still dont want to throw away your money and waste your time. A word to the wise...
