I was just wondering how you send transcripts to AMCAS. Do you just call the school and have them send it to AMCAS for you? If you're going to submit in June should you do this as soon as the AMCAS app becomes available, then? (may?) Thanks guys! This is one thing I have always been clueless about.

There is a form you print out on your AMCAS main page. Print that out and submit it to your registrar. There should be an address on the form where you sent it to. You just send ONE copy to AMCAS and not to individual schools. If your transcripts are final already, try to send it ASAP. During the busy season, t his is what holds up applications. But in general, AMCAS verifies them pretty quickly. Took them 4 days from sending to verification for me in early July.

Just to clarify slightly (although that's it up there) you send one copy of each transcript to AMCAS, by sending one request form to each registrar plus any fees. The request forms aren't sent electronically, automatically, or anything high tech. It's just a request form that fills in when you give AMCAS your data. You print the request form and mail it to the registrar with fees.

Ok, so I took college classes at two different schools in high school, plus I have my undergrad institution. So I would print out the form when I can access AMCAS in May, and send copies to all 3 of my institutions, then they will send the transcript directly to AMCAS? Do schools always send them in a timely fashion? And as for hold ups...My college now doesn't get out til June and my grades won't be back til probably the 10th of June...So I'll have to wait a bit to send in that transcript..But my application will still be considered early, right?

Technically it will be a different form for each institution (different address & name of registrar). And, yes, anytime in June is early enough!
