It totally depends on class/teacher. It could be any combination of the above.

Let's hear ways that some of us study for course exams.

No need to attend lectures or read textbooks. I've never bought any.

Use the class notes and questions from board review books to review the material just before the exam.

If you do all that, you are guaranteed a pass! 🙂

You should add study class notes and review books/review flashcards.

Usually just class notes. I do tend to occasionally crack open a textbook when I need a better explanation of a concept. It has worked well so far.

This just shows how important it is to take good notes. Well, I guess for alot of us, our med schools spoil us by giving us complete note packets for each class/body system so all we have to do is make small brief notes here and there. It's like the notes in med school are almost like another textbook, but this may vary from class to class and school to school. From the poll, lots of people seem to focus on notes and use the text to reference topics in the notes that may need more explaination/clarification. Thanks to those who participated in the poll.

There is not need to take any notes at my school. All of the testable material comes from the printed notes we are given. The people that waste time writing out notes in the margin actually do worse on the exam, because they waste their time focusing on extra material.
