My understanding is that the ECFMG contacts the medical school once all the USMLEs are passed and that I can't influence this. Is this correct?

If you graduate before passing all the USMLEs, can you tell the ECFMG that you graduated in order to speed up the certification process?

Not sure if you posted in the right forum, but anyway, you can send in copies of your diploma and final transcript alongside the correct forms in order to change your status (from student to graduate). If your final medical diploma is not in English, then you would also need to official translations. Best to give the ECFMG a call for the exact procedure, although pretty much everything can be found on their website.

This does not "speed up" the certification process - it is just another step that needs to be taken before you can be fully ECFMG certified. You can do it before or after the USMLE exams, so get it out of the way as soon as possible.
