Ok. first of all i ended up wearing these
http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh280/michaelrosenbaumm/picture022.jpg
I got up at 7 oclock in the morning and went to target.
THe manager was cute as hell ( asian) and I am asian also so I felt really comfortable talking.

OK. I went in and she basically asked me when am I available. Then I answered any day except monday, wednesday night because I am taking a summer class. She said that is fine because we need people in the weekend. Then she said she liked the fact that I was being persistent in trying to get the interview. She also told me that I needed to take classes to eventually become certified. She then asked me if I was going to school and I said I am in the process of completing my prereqs for pharmacy school. She said thats good. And then she said that I needed to get a drug test before getting hired and then told me to call her back tomorrow to come and pick up the drug form when the store manager comes tomorrow. She said if everything with the test went well then I might start this sunday. Oh I also told her about going away for 2 weeks and she said it's fine because Ill be done completing my first stage of training which is about 2 weeks.

Do you think I got the job? I am positive I did.

Seems like it went fine to me. The outfit is better than what you had planned on wearing. Does CVS not require a computer personality test? When it was Longs in my state, it was required.

Oh I think I did that when applying online

You got the job. Only because we told you what to wear. And you don't need to take classes to get certified, you'll learn everything you need for the test on the job.

😍

Thank you for the advice people. I will not argue from now on.

Congrats!

(I really want my user name to be red but without that probationary status)

Lol.
If its like Rite Aid, you'll be required to attend classes but you won't learn as much as on the job training or computer modules.

Did you go to the interview wearing that black box on your head too?

I think I am REQUIRED to take the classes.

First of all, I like the thread. 👍

Second, congratulations! 👍

It's nice to see positive posts on these boards, I swear their is something about online forums (or at least this site in particular) that seems to select for the most negative people/events. Anyway good luck with the new job!

P.S. Please no "How do you pass a drug tests/How long do you have to wait?" thread, OK?

I told ya'll that it is pretty easy to get a job at CVS. I don't know what classes she's talking about since I never took any classes when I worked at CVS. Only things I did for training were some at home CD-ROM training modules, and that's it.

I don't see the purpose of that online personality test. That **** prevented me from getting a job at Hollywood Video a few years ago. The manager kept calling me back and telling me to do the test again since the computer didn't like my answers.

The classes I am required to take is like 20 mins away from my house. My friend actually quit her tech job cuz she didn't feel like going to those classes. She also has another job.

Congrats on finishing your interview.

Seriously, good luck. I'm sorry you're gonna work for CVS (I don't want anyone, even an annoyance like you, to work there), but you need some experience, and it's better than nothing. Now I'm gonna have to wash my mouth.

Yes, as everyone else said here before, please, for the love of God, do not make any more posts about your life. Make a blog, link it to your profile, put it in your siggy, and post relevant info about pharmacy, or if you have a quick question, place it in a relevant thread.

Learn as much as you can while you're working as a technician.

Once you start school and work as an intern, they might be a bit tougher on you, since they expect more from students.

You do seem like a natural fit for a blog. Think about it. 👍

There is an entire drug testing thread already 🙂 It pertains to pharmacy schools, though:

Shadow RX, please NEVER EVER reply to my thread again. I don't need people like you to help me. Please.

GOD I wish I could have a UFC match with you.

I definitely hope you get the job. However, I was in your shoes before with a CVS interview and didn't turn out so well for me. My interview went well and they told me to do the drug test. BUT they don't have the drug form at that moment and told me to call them back to check if they have the form in a couple of days. That's exactly what I did, but when I called them back, they always tell me that the form hasn't come in yet. After two weeks, they finally told me that they already hired someone else. 😡

PS. I'm glad your manager is cute as hell. I'm sure you will enjoy working there.

damn that sucks. Did you actually wait 2 weeks before calling them back for the drug form. MAN I feel distressed now.

No I called 2 days after my interview then called them pretty much every 3 days after that.

Damn, thats bullcrap. They were using the absence of drug form to not hire you?
I am really positive I am gonna get this job. I could feel that the interviewer really like me. She even already started saying when you are working don't do this don't do that.

I think your case is extremely RARE.

Actually I think they were planning on hiring me. During the interview, the pharmacy manager introduced me to everyone there and some of the store managers as well. They were looking very hard for the drug form, but they just didn't have it on that day. I got lucked out thanks to some MIA drug form.

I still don't get it though. How could they decide not to hire you because they could not find the drug form. And ended up hiring someone else?

Doesn't really make sense to me.😕

When I was first hired, they sent me over to the district store to get the drug test form (because that's where they were kept).

You never know with JB.

BTW, all the things I said were to help you, not to piss you off. There are a hell of a lot more people with the same attitude I have shown you. I'll be "nicer" to you when you decide to stop posting a million times a minute.

And if we did have a UFC match, I would squash you -- literally. 1st round KO.

LOL yea right.

If you can figure out when your coworkers are telling jokes instead of trying to pick on you, you should get along with them well.

Don't be too worried. From your first post, it seems like the pharmacy manager will be giving you the job, provided you pass the necessary drug tests. Relax and enjoy your summer. The money ain't great as a pharm tech in retail but you'll gain some valuable experience while working at CVS.🙂

You are pretty scrawny, BC.
+1000

I'm pretty husky, bottlecap. And quick. You got no choice. I'd be all over you like brown on rice (hence the awesome face being brown colored instead of yellow).

Also, I heard CVS pays minimum wage, not the standard $10/hr for certified pharm techs. Sucks. But yeah, good luck with all the experience.

Honest to God, don't take this negative - retail will gauge your interest in pharmacy. If you can handle retail, go ahead with pharmacy. If you can't, and you really want to do pharmacy, learn what makes you tick (in the pharmacy setting) and try to adapt better to it.

Is that fair? To give you good advice? I hope so.

Congrats on the job acceptance, even if CVS is awful.

For your next topics, I would like the following:

How do you think my first day at CVS went?
How do you think I counted my first 30 pills?
How do you think I took a patient's prescription?

You guys seriously think I am this sensitive?. I was just kidding around by posting those stupid cry-baby answers
I just wanted want to be well-known in this website ahaha I guess it worked( my name is highlighted in red)
Shadow RX, I have nothing against you man. I know you have been giving me good advices since the beginning. I was just fukin around by arguing with you. Now that I am on probationary, I guess I gotta stop. Please understand I am just a kid. LOL

The manager said the wage starts at 8.50 and thats not minimum here in jersey. I used to help out my uncle at the dry cleaners and I get paid 8-9 bucks an hour cash. We often get complaints from customers about not cleaning or pressing their clothes properly. I only got into one big argument but problem was solved. I think I can handle retail.
WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP SAYING CVS is HORRIBLE? well at least my manager is cute so I guess ill be fine.
ALSO, THIS MIGHT SOUND ANNOYING AND STUPID BUT
how long does the drug test normally take? manager said 2 days
I wanna start as soon as possible. Plus the manager is cute and I can't wait to see her again. AHAHAHA

Yes and I want you to be the first answerer.

pasion4sci, your height and weight means nothing. I have seen many fighters weigh half his opponents' and still beats him.
I am pretty big for an asian kid. I am 5'9 162 lbs PURE MUSCLE.

LOL i am drug-free. I don't even drink that much. Last time I smoked was like 3 months ago. I am sure I am clean by now.😀
Plus I don't even care how much money I am making there. I am only there for the experience. I have enough money in the bank (12K) to not work for 2-3 years. Most of my expenses are paid.

OH and my beautiful vacation in Europe is awaiting.. One more month. YES....

I don't see any muscle. The only advantage you'd have on me in a fight is being able to evade. I personally know the dude who is currently the WBA Light Welterweight Champion. He's 5'7 140 lbs, I'm 5'9" 240 lbs. In a fight, he might be able to move around all over the place, but if one of my punches lands, he's done.

WOW You are 5'9 240 lbs? You are overweight. It doesn't matter how much muscle you have. You are never going to catch anyone because your weight slows you down.

Ron Dane was 5'9" 290 pounds and was an extrememly successful college running back who was then drafted into the NFL. 95% of pro athletes are heavy-overweight according to BMI, and believe me every single one of them could catch you. Now stop trying to cause drama!
