How does AAMCS expect you to send recommendation letters in for applications?

Do you just have the professor send it to AAMCS or can you mail it yourself? Does it have to be in an un-opened envelope and should you do it as part of the primary application? (it looks its a part of it). The last time I did something like this it was super confusing so im trying to get to the bottom of this before confusing professors (I know that it's a major pain for profs to do recommendation letters for law school for example).

Just have them send it to:

AMCAS
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington, D.C. 20500

On second thought, google "AMCAS instruction manual" and read that.

I did. This whole stuff about instructor having a copy of letter ID and whatever is confusing. Do they need to access my AMCAS account and fill out their personal info? or just send?

I would suggest an interfolio account. Makes sending things to AMCAS easier, imo.

A lot of people recommend interfolio. I'm not sure how that works with AMCAS. There's got to be someone on here that does.

I'll look into it. anything that makes things easier would be a godsend.

When are you applying?

If you are not applying this cycle, do NOT send LORs to AMCAS as they will delete them at the end of this cycle. You need Interfolio (some undergrad preprofessional advisement offices will do this for you as well, so talk to them first) if you would like to save LORs for an extended period of time
