When AMCAS separates your GPA's so schools can look at the trends from your FR to SO to JR to SR year, does the 5th year GPA go into the senior section or is it consider something different?

Last year I was confused about that too. I put everything starting fall semester my 4th year as "senior" which was 3 semesters. I can't say for certain that's correct, but I didn't have any problems. And in the GPA summary, that's how it was calculated.

You designate which semesters are which year yourself.

Yes, the fifth year college grades (and sixth, and seventh, etc) will all be calculated together with senior year grades into one number, no matter how many credits that might be.

If you want an upward trend to show, graduating and taking subsequent classes as an undergrad postbac gets a different line for those grades. But then those classes are calculated together with all your college classes to make your cumulative undergraduate GPAs on the following line.
