How Does Doing a DIY Post Bac look?

Hey, I have a 3.81 cGPA and a 3.69 sGPA-AMCAS (3.63 for TMDSAS). I was wondering would me going back to me undergrad institution or any other institution to complete some upper level science courses and continue my research lab for credit help me boost this GPA up. I already am planning on retaking the MCAT, but I was wondering how increasing these GPAs will help me. Will they be weighted the same as my undergrad GPA? Also, if I increase these GPAs heavily how would my chances look for a top, top medical school? (I also plan on doing more extracurriculars on top of what I already have).

Honestly, kinda silly to do any more coursework. You have fine GPAs. And how much will it move the GPA needle to take more courses even if you ace them? Going from a 3.81 to a 3.85 isn't all that much of a change.

Also, if I increase these GPAs heavily how would my chances look for a top, top medical school? (I also plan on doing more extracurriculars on top of what I already have).

Impossible to answer without an MCAT score and seeing the rest of your app.

Concentrate on getting into A medical school, not merely a Top one. What happens if, say, NYMC is your only accept?

I would take it. But if I didnt get in anywhere, I would aim to have the best app possible and therefore my school list would include higher ranked schools
