Hi,

I'm refining my list of schools to apply to this cycle. Below is the list I came up with so far...

OHSU School of Dentistry
Louisiana State University
Howard University
University of Washington
Baylor College of Dentistry
Univ of Texas, San Antonio
University of Detroit Mercy
Loma Linda University
Creighton University
UC - San Francisco
Baltimore College of Dental Surgery
Indiana University
Tufts University
University of Oklahoma
West Virginia University

Here are my stats:
Oregon Resident
B.S. Computer Science -> GPA: 3.15
Working experience: 8 years as a software developer
Earned the MBA while working -> straight A, GPA: 3.85
Decided to change discipline to dentistry. Taking 2 years of prereqs (fulltime) with BCP GPA: 3.85
Current Overall GPA: around 3.4
Shadowing:100 hrs
Volunteering: involving helping trouble kids/teens with various organizations on and off for the last 8 years.
Haven't taken the DAT yet, but just assume to be around 19-20 range (my weakest areas are RC and Bio)

Question: does the list look OK? Are there schools that I may have a better chance of getting in? Much appreciated!

I wouldn't apply to LSU if you are from Oregon. They only accept up to 5 applicants from states other than LA and Arkansas.

Hi,

I'm refining my list of schools to apply to this cycle. Below is the list I came up with so far...

OHSU School of Dentistry
Louisiana State University - Not too many seats for OOS
Howard University - Generally a school for URM
University of Washington
Baylor College of Dentistry - Texas is not very OOS friendly
Univ of Texas, San Antonio - Texas is not very OOS friendly
University of Detroit Mercy
Loma Linda University
Creighton University
UC - San Francisco
Baltimore College of Dental Surgery
Indiana University
Tufts University
University of Oklahoma
West Virginia University

I would consider replacing the 4 schools that are in Bold (unless you are URM, then leave Howard). Good luck!
