Hi Guys,

My cousin has recently immigrated to the U.S. and she was hoping to find a position in the nursing field. Her English is moderate at best and she is 23yrs old and has already graduated from college. What options does she have?

What is the lowest entry level nursing position out there? LPN? Can you obtain a LPN license through community college? How much does it usually pay? What level of educational background do you need in order to be admitted to such programs? What others options in the medical field does she have? Ultrasound tech? X-ray tech?

Sorry for all of the questions but if anyone can help I really appreciated.
Thanks

She needs a high school diploma or GED or whatever the equivalent is where she is. LPN/LVN school is only a year but finding a job could be difficult because most employers want RNs. She can get an associate degree in nursing in two years which will allow her to take boards and become RN

Here is a link to some tech positions she might consider
