How does this generate acidic ions??

FeCl3 + H2O

I really do know, somebody please help ?
 
Hmm, Cl- is a spectator ion, so count those out of the the equilibrium formula:

Fe^3+ + H2O <=> Fe(OH)3 + H^+

the H+ at the end makes the solution acidic.
 
This seems too hard.
I would tell you if I knew it, but I would just ignore it.
