How easy is it to get research at medical school?

Cart before the horse, still doing secondaries (only got one so far done with that), a bit bored so my mind has been wandering a bit. Two major questions. Is research readily available at most M.D medical schools? Do students have time to committ to those kind of research positions along with their coursework? (please do not mention research that is part of the schools curriculum (i think Emory has something where students go 6 months doing research).

Yes, research is readily available. Whether you can fit it in with your coursework really depends on how efficient you are.
