Just wondering if these can have any impact. I sent one in to LECOM in plenty of time before my application went to the committee. I am suppose to find out Monday or Tuesday if I get in, but I am just curious...

Thank you. 🙂

Hey Jezz:

I've been following your posts and although i did not apply to LECOM..i want to wish you the best of luck..I know how you are feeling rite now (i only had 2 interviews..first gave me wait list..so on the 2nd i was scared out of my mind) I was contemplating sending a LOI to the school but i do not know the efficacy of such letters And i didnt have time to send it because the adcoms informed us that they would inform us on their decision only 2 weeks after the interview, by the time i was contemplating writing the letter a week and a half had already passed..doh!. considering your app has been "reviewed" for so long i dont think a LOI would hurt. I just want to tell you to keep your head high and to always think positive!! even if you dont get into this app. cycle improve on your stats a little and stick with it, one extra year of waiting to achieve your life long dream is not too bad (im a 5th year senior in undergrad) so technically ive missed my first app cycle.. 🙂

Just hang in there Jezz (i know easier said than done) everything will eventually go your way..

Thanks so much for your support. I just want to start my life and get things going, ya know? That darn MCAT is what is freaking me out the most. I know Erie doesn't make their decision only on this score, but still. Another thing I am still worried about is when they took my app into the committee, they forgot all about my personality and enthusiasm, not to mention good looks 😎 ... Nah, but oh well, it is over now - the desicion has been made.

Thanks Mikey 😳

it looks like you know what you need to concentrate on.if you dont get into any schools this app cycle.. i would advise you to cruise through the mcat section at SDN..they tell you which books are excellent to study, good study habbits, where to get old practice exams, etc.. i am confident if I used their recommendations in studying for the mcat i would have broken 30 on the mcat.. I dont envy anyone having to take the mcat..that is the beast of all beasts and once again i wish you luck and if you get into another school not LECOM..besure to let everyone on sdn know!!

keep your head high jezz and dont let this little bump in the road stop you to be a great physician some day. 🙂

It is a letter of intent. You should really send this to only one school. Basically it is a verbal agreement to attend the school if they accept you. It is not legally binding but it is ethically sound to only give this to one school.
