How far down the list should we expect?

Does anyone who has any experience with this stuff know how far down the list the average applicant goes (standard dev)? I am totally insane and anxious and delirious right now and would appreciate any thoughts to keep me busy. Thanks and good luck to everyone!!!

I asked a question similar to this, but no one who had gone through this before was willing to sack up and say. I imagine the "I got my #1" people will be quick to chime in and "I got my last choice" will remain silent.

I'll contribute come Friday and let you know how far down my list I went.

It's really variable. It differs from year to year depending on the overall competitiveness and quality of applicants of that particular year. 2 years ago, for example, most people I knew on this board matched within their top 5-6 with minority going down to 10. There were a few people, however, who ranked 10-12 and did not match.
