Applied in July to ~30 schools. 6 IIs, attended 5, rejected 3 with 2 expectant rejections (weakest interviews).

How many seats are still open for this year? Have most IIs gone out already?

To be fair, that is by the end of October - we still have two weeks! 😉 (And I imagine the numbers are noticeably different for DO.)

According to this 35% of invites are yet to be given out. The number is probably higher for DO as we have a longer cycle.
Woah 35% by the end of October? I would think it would be around half at this point for DO, but oh well I'm still prepping myself for a Jan MCAT retake and 4 more science classes on top of my fall semester.

I'd say about halfway for DO, nearing the end for MD.
Most of my app updates were done by end of November with a couple more trickling in Feb-March.

I think its very hard to tell, all these charts are approximate and this cycle also started later

It's tough to say, but it's definitely still reasonably early. People start to freak out this time of year since MD acceptances are going out now. Just give it time.

It's past mid October, and it's definitely not early. Schools have been sending out interviews and acceptances for a while. It's getting to the late side.

I am highly suspicious of the graph. Even if correct for MD schools, the DO schools will vary so greatly that it's impossible to say how many IIs have been given out by this time. Given the turn around time at my school from receipt of primary to the actually, I suspect that the actual number of IIs remaining is > 35%. Probably closer to 50%.

@Goro Does this seem correct? (Suspicious due to lack of citations)

That graph was posted by someone in the premed section of Reddit so it could be completely made up.
