how fast do secondaries come out?

when can one start working on secondaries for teh schools that don't screen?

do you have to wait to be verified? or will you get them immediately after submitting your amcas primary?

I did 14 before i got verified. I've gotten another 5-6 after i was verified. Some schools let you submit before, some dont.

Most schools that don't screen will send you the secondaries as soon as they receive your primary. Many secondaries are available on the school website even before you submit your AMCAS.

Hm, I applied to 24 schools, am not yet verifed (fingers crossed for this week!!), and have only received 3 secondaries thus far. Should I be concerned?

no not necessarily. some secondaries are readily available on the SOM's website, but they won't notify you of that until they receive your primary. so if you do some searching on the schools' websites, you may find it (ex: baylor college of medicine).

in addition, there's a "Secondaries that are available" thread here on SDN that contains direct links to websites or pdf files that are normally sent after they receive your primary.

Thanks 🙂 I'll definitely start working on those now - that way I can get them out as soon as I'm verified! I had no clue this verification process was so long... I figured I was good to go when I submitted in July! Live and learn, I suppose...🙄 I think I already know the answer to this, but just in case - you aren't supposed to submit secondaries until you're actually contacted by the schools, even if you've already had access to them, right? Sometimes I'm amazed at the misconceptions I have, so I figure I might as well check!
