How good: NBME retired questions and/or self-test?

Does anyone have experience with the NBME retired questions and/or self-test and how they compare to the real deal? I know they're really old (released in the early nineties) and somewhat easier than the current NBME practice tests, but I thought maybe some of the concepts may still be the same. Any thoughts? Are they worth doing or a complete waste of time? Thanks in advance.
