Hi all Canadians and Americans familiar with this topic,

I'm a Canadian planning to start d-school in the US this coming August. Because of the lower compensation for dentists up here in Canada, I'm hoping to be able to stay in the US to practice after graduating and getting licensed there. I heard that all I need to do is to get an employer willing to hire me to write a letter with which I present to the US border guards, and then obtain my TN visa on the spot. This seems very straight forward. But are US employers reluctant to hire Canadians (again, fully licensed to practice in US) nonetheless?
Those of you Canadians currently practicing in the US or have practiced there, please come forward and share your experiences. Also, those of you employers who have experience with hiring Canadians are invited as well.

Many thanks to all those who respond.
