Hi,

I am based in the UK, and have just finished my MRCS and basic surgical training.

I was wondering if you thought if there would be a chance of me getting into surgical training in the USA, or if I would just be wasting my time?

Thanks

Do you have an ECFMG certificate?

What are your USMLE Step 1 and 2 scores?

Do you have a visa/can you get a visa for the US?

Any US clinical experience, letters of recommendation?

Otherwise, we really can't answer "What are My Chances" questions, but without the above information, it becomes exceedingly hard. The vast majority of US surgical positions are filled by final year US students.

though I'd wager that, if you're at Imperial, your chances are quite good.

** Nb. in the States, quite means "very"
