How hard is it to get into a CA residency program?

How hard is it to get into a CA residency program? Do they like CA pharmacy students more since they can recognize school name more easily? I have the opportunity to attend a great out-of-state pharm school but (I think) people in CA tend to know very little about these places.

I really appreciate any feedback you might have! Do you know anyone who has been successful or unsuccessful in this endeavor?

Oh and I'm a CA native.
