How hard is it to get into UPenn?

Hi, I'm new here. I majored in Psych and planning to double major in biology when I transfer. I wanted to look into any of the Vet schools near me, but I didn't know how hard it is to get into UPenn.

Im debating between vet medicine or human medicine and the schools are the final factor

Have you shadowed both veterinarians and human doctors? You should do that first. If you would be happy in human medicine, you may want to consider that route. If you haven't looked up the average student debt for vet school and average vet salaries, I'd recommend that.

I don't know about UPenn specifically, but vet schools commonly look at (in no particular order of importance since it varies per school) :

1) GPA. Some consider cumulative GPA, pre-req GPA, science GPA, last 45 credit GPA, etc.
2) Vet Experience. SUPER IMPORTANT. You can have a rocking application and still not get accepted if you don't have this.
3) GRE
4) LORs ( 3 +/- more Letter sof Recommendations)
5) Personal essays
6) +/- Interview
7) Miscellaneous

Bottom line: If you haven't already, you should really consider shadowing a veterinarian. You will get a good idea about the profession and maybe it can help you decide between the med school and vet school.
