How hard is the hole punching on the real DAT?

Hi, everyone, I am new to this thread. I did PAT practice with KAPLAN and other books, and I found out the hole punching sections are really easy. I also looked at the ADA test, the difficulty level of hole punching is about the same. But when I did the practice on crack PAT, the hole punching section is insane. Each question has more than 3,4 folds including half hole punching. I did poorly and it took me about 1 min per question. How hard is the hole punching in the real DAT? Isn't it suppose to be the easist sections besides angle ranking?

Angle ranking IS the hardest in the PAT section...or so I've heard. I've also heard that the hole-punching on the real DAT is a little easier - 3 folds with no half hole punches. if you look at the thread by Sama915 (called: my wicked sick PAT tutorial) you will see almost all the PAT sections explained by 2thDMD and Sama915.

CDP does have tough hole punching but real test should be easier I think. You should be able to do most of the CDP ones.

It's pretty hard.....The section is actually my strongest section on all my practice ones. The real thing is crazy thought. The pratice tests only give you an easy 2 - 3 folds. The real test folds in all different directions

If you are using Kaplans for PAT and think thast you know the stuff be very careful. Kaplans is much easier for the PAT than the actual thing. CDP is more on the ball. There are most definitelf half punches that whn unfolded form one hole. The real thing is very slighttly easier than CDP, however ones you get the hang of Hole Punching it is the second easiest section after Cubes.

Well I based my entire PAT study only on Kaplan class materials/online tests, I thought the whole punching on the real thing was harder. However, I got about 21 on the Kaplan practice and 20 on the real thing so it's not that off.

On my DAT the hole punches were all easy just like the kaplan and ADA ones...except for one problem where they messed up (on purpose?) the scale so it was very hard to tell if it was folded in half or one quarter.

CDP hole punching was much much harder.

Yeah , plus much faster. CDP hole punches take me 2 times as long as ADA, barrrons, kaplan.

I don't think I ever got one hole punching wrong using kaplans, they are ridiculously easy. However, on the real DAT, there were multiple punched holes which messed with my way of doing them...which caused lag. Practice making your own hole punches and figure out a way to do them, then, YOULL BE GOOD!

Thats not safe to say at all. Get good at hole punching, get 15/15 consistently on CDP and then youre golden for the DAT.
As for the guy who said he had a fold that he couldnt tell if it was a quarterfold or half fold, it was neither, it was in between the two, a 1/3 fold. Your lucky that you didnt get much more of those opn your DAT, I had like 4 of those. You will see those in CDP also.
