How high of DAT to offset 3.1/3.2 gpa?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
There's no magic number, but let's just say you should do really well. Maybe 23+?

With a 3.1 GPA, you should also consider bolstering your extracurriculars and getting letters of recommendation made of gold.

I'm from Canada so not too sure about how American schools work, but after browsing around these forums I feel like 23+ would be optimal.

I think that score is doable with enough hard work. Unfortunately (just my opinion), I feel that once you get into the realm of 20+ there is a decent amount of like involved.

Good luck !!

Go for a 22+. Maybe a 23 would help. My sgpa isn't that much better than yours. Then again, I'm not in the best situation right now haha.

Is this your science gpa?
IMO,to avoid frustration plus time and money do some research and find schools that you have the greatest chance of acceptance before applying. Scoring as high as possible on the DAT will help offset a lower GPA but not all schools will accept your GPA.

Wishing you the best..

I had a similar or slightly lower GPA and was recently accepted (doesn't make me an expert but here is my opinion). I think my DAT score probably offset my GPA to an extent but you're basically at ground zero after that. As stated above you will need to do your research and apply broadly as some schools simply won't look past that gpa. There needs to be something in your app that makes an adcom want to consider you to the same extent as someone with 3.5+ GPA. Feel free to pm me if you want to know more about my experience with this past cycle!

Congratulations on your acceptance and I agree with your statement above.
