I didn't have a LOR from a Dentist. The one's that I shadowed were nice guys but I didn't really know them enough, and they didn't really know me enough to write a good LOR.

So I just had 3 letters:

1) Professor that I did organic chemistry research with
2) Dean of chemistry department (who also taught me Biochem)
3) Charge nurse (RN) at the hospital I have worked at for past year

Do you think ADCOMS will hold not having a dentist LOR against me?

Some adcoms do request a letter from a dentist - and those that do are generally very explicit about this requirement. For me, I wanted a letter from a dentist as I felt that would help round out my recommendations. I also had a LOR from a liberal arts professor as Creighton requires one and a couple of the other schools on my list 'strongly recommend' one from such a person. I don't think you are damaged at all - if a school requires one you can always return to one of your dentists and request one. If you do end up having to do that, bring along your personal statement and your resume (so they can get a better picture of you the applicant and the person) and sit down with him/her and have a little discussion about your goals and what not. Doing so will avoid giving them the impression that you are merely using him/her for a means to an end and don't value the service.
