Do residencies look at our shelf exams?

At my school its around 20% of grading and I'm consistnetly above the 90s but my shelves arent the greatest for now so my grade drops to around the high 80s.

mine was about 20% for each rotation but Dean's letter had no mention of any of the scores

Dependent on the school. Some include the grades on the Dean's letter/transcript. Others just use it as part of the calculation of the overall grade of a clerkship (as mine did).

It's good to study for them so you're reasonably well prepared for step 2 to some extent, although you'll likely forget about the material once the clerkship is over anyway.

Lucky. At my school they count for 50% and u can't honor the rotation unless you honor both clinically and the shelf exam....sucks.

Your clinical rotation grades matter. If you're getting 70s on your shelves but honoring rotations then whatever.
