how important are supplementals (essay type)??

Hey guys I was wondering how important are supplemental apps (like the essay types from Upenn)?? Is it just a way for them to get to know the applicant a little more before the interview?? Or is it a pretty big factor b4 and after interviews??

I don't think they matter much. Not as much as your PS anyway. This is just my opinion because I feel like no one puts much time into them, including myself.

well they did give you the questions so it's to your advantage to answer them as best as you can.

I only put 2~3 sentences, that's all I did.

I would say it is quite reasonable to expect most supp. questions to come up on the interview.

I'd say they're pretty important. I treated most just like my personal statement, and took a few days to work on each. Why give schools any chance to not take you seriously?
