How important is a rads rec letter?

I may not be able to get a rads rec letter in time for my application. How important is a rads letter for ERAS?

(I will have strong letters from cardiology, surgery, OB, and a rads research letter)

That's fine. At least at my program, we used to weigh LORs from core rotations like surgery, IM and OB more unless it was a letter from a known radiologist.

I will actually (hopefully) have one from a well known PD at the program I am doing a rotation at now. But I guess the earliest it could get it submitted would be be early Sept. Is that too late for ERAS? I keep getting pressure to get that sucker submitted ASAP. Should I wait till this letter is available before submitting? Or submit now and add the letter later?

ERAS can't even be submitted until Sept. 15

Just found out that while I have a meeting scheduled with the PD toward the end of the rotation this month, I won't actually be able to spend much any clinical time with her. Will it be bad form to still ask for a rec anyway? Could she base a letter on the evals and suggestions of the other faculty? Or is there no way she could write a letter because we havent spent any time together? (And I therefore shouldn't ask for one)

You are over-obsessed with your rad rotation.

If you have not worked with her, I doubt you can get a good recommendation letter from her, esp if she is the PD. So forget about it.

Don't some programs require two letters from radiologists?
