How important is ABSITE if you are prelim surgery?

Do prelim surgery residents actually need to worry about the ABSITE? Just curious of people's previous experiences, especially if you have a spot already.

I did preliminary surgery. It means absolutely nothing don't sweat it for one millisecond. That being said I studied hard for like a week and tried really hard it was just fun to beat all but one of the categoricals.

If you have a spot it means absolutely nothing. For others wanting to switch and dont have a spot it can mean somewhat more.

My prelim surg program doesn't even make us take it. We take a modified, watered down, in-house version. In either case, it makes no difference what you get. Just take it lightly and have fun beating out the categoricals.

It should be your goal to bomb the test to help your surgical collegues get good scores.
