I got an invite from Iowa and they have 6 options for an interview date. The one that is most convenient for me is one of the last ones. Should I do this one or pick the earliest one I can?

I've read that a few schools only consider "students with interviews up to XXXX date" for a December 2nd acceptance.

That date is generally in mid-November.

So... basically... if you interview before mid-November, you're fine. 😀 😀

I feel that at most places all pre-Dec interviews are basically equal.

like glimmer and favor said...As long as your interview is not past mid November, then the interview dates don't really matter that much as long as they are pre-December. Going very early doesn't give you an edge over going later(pre-mid-November)

I don't actually know how schools handle accepting students. But my thinking when I was applying was, schools may announce who is accepted on the same day but would they really wait until the end of November to dig through a pile of 1000+ apps and pick the final 80? Or is it that apps are set aside as possibly accepted throughout the interviewing process that could potentially be replaced later if better applicants come? I don't know. I felt safer with an earlier interview but I could be completely wrong. I would just go for the earliest date that is convenient no later than the beginning of November.
