So I can imagine that it's important for UTSW and Baylor. But what about schools like McGovern, A&M, Long, etc.? I'm asking because I'm in my junior year and I recently got in an interesting volunteer internship. I was originally planning on doing research this year (haven't done any), but I really like this internship and I wanna do it until I apply next cycle. I don't have time for both research and this. By the time I apply, I'd have about ~220 hours volunteering in this internship.

Here's my current important stats:
TX resident
3.7/517
220 hours clinical volunteering
40 hours shadowing
40 hours various forms of volunteering

so im TX 4.0/518; specifically stated wanted to go into reserach; only have 100 hours clinical experience (ER) and nothing else; last schools to hear/havent heard from are: dell/mcgovern/tam; first schools: baylor/utsw/UTHSCSA/UTMB/el paso

Youll be fine. Dell and the others just dont seem to hit people back lol. It would be great if you could squeeze in a tab bit of research but its not a end all be all deal. Keep up the good work.
