how important is the PAT?

hey guys i'm new here so plz don't flame me if i say anything stupid, but anyway i was just wondering how much emphasis do schools put on the PAT score, i mean say i get a 18 AA and 25 PAT, would that look better than a 20 AA 18 PAT? thanks.

As far as i know the academic average is the most important and then comes total sciences. I dont think that PAT is all that important bu perhaps i am wrong. As far as 25 PAT and 18 A.A. or 20 A.A. and 18 PAT, the 20 A.A. is way betterand you have a much better shot with that.

it actually depends on the school you are applying to as to how much emphasis they place on the PAT...I know at UNC they place no emphasis on the PAT at all because there is "no correlation between PAT scores and how a student will perform in dental school" according to them. But there are other schools (not sure which) that place a much greater emphasis on the PAT.

your best bet is to do really well on your AA and TS though...

I know for sure Baylor doesn't care about PAT. they don't look at PAT score at all ( it is not funny!)

On the other hand, UOP does place some emphasis on the PAT section.
