How important is the score breakdown?

So obviously, residencies look at your overall step 1 score when screening for interviews. But how important is the breakdown of that score? (e.g., someone has a good score but their anatomy section is poor).

They only see that if you bring your score report and show them, I believe. Programs do not get your score breakdown. With that said, I suppose that its as important as you want it to be.

Sending in your performance profile is part of the application for SF Match programs (ophtho, ENT, neuro, neurosurg, plastics). I don't know if that means they actually use it or not, though.

my boyfriend went through the early match last year. some interviewers actually asked why some sections were lower than others..... he did pretty well on step1 so i think the programs were really splitting hairs....
