I calculated my BCPM GPA for all of my pre-requisites and other upper level science courses and it was a 3.42. My overall GPA is a 3.60 and I was wondering what sort of weight is given to the BCPM since my overall GPA is competitive. I read everywhere that there are cut-offs sometimes around a GPA of 3.5 but it's ambiguous as to whether that applies to overall, BCPM, or both.

Almost exactly equal. BCMP is slightly less important on avg but insignificantly so. With a 3.42/3.6, you're an average applicant in that respect. (By definition, average applicants don't get in, so you'll want to work at that a bit and/or ensure other parts of your application are much stronger than average.)

When you are selecting schools to apply to, be sure to keep an eye on the bottom 10th percentile for BCPM for each school. You can find this information in the MSAR (Medical School Admission Requirements) book in your prehealth advising office, at the library reference desk, or by purchase through the AMCAS website.

You included ALL your college math classes in your BCPM, right?

How do you think schools would feel about a 3.5GPA/3.95sGPA?

Better than the OP but definitely not as good as a 3.7-3.8 (their average). Numbers closer together look better. The 3.95 sGPA could say a lot of different things so it merits a closer look. (I.e., WHY did you get a 3.95 sGPA vs. a 3.5 cGPA?)
