How important is it to have contacts or people who are associated with a school. I talk to a lot of people who are like oh yeah my best friends dad teaches and *school here*. Im sure these people have a huge increase, probally almost guarenteed acceptance. Is this true?

I bet if they have mediocre grades and DAT score... anything above 3.0 and 17or 18 they could probably get in.

My kaplan teacher told me about this girl he knew who was hooked up with one of the admissions officers who took the DAT twice not once making a 16 and then a 17 and was accepted.
Don't know how true that is? 😕

lol well i think i need to hook up with some people then. j/k this one girl i talked to knew like 10 different people who had the ability to "put in a good word"

Hello,

At this place that I volunteer, I will be assisting an Instructor from UIC dental school. I hope he can hook me up with a recommendation. You know put in a good word for me. So far all the doctors there like me, so I think I can get the recommendation. Without doing any special favors for him though.

Same here. At the place where I volunteer there are three Marquette Dental professors. I'm expecting some really nice LOR's.

not that im proud of it or anything, but my best friends connections are going to get her into dental school, and she has ~ 2.8 & mediocre DAT scores.

It probably helps if you have low stats, or if you want a guaranteed acceptance somewhere. Other than that, it doesn't matter. At the schools I was accepted to, I didn't know a soul, and I also have no relatives in the dental profession.

So, if your stats are low, start kissing some hiney.
