For most of your rotations are u guys alone a lot or are u mostly with classmates? Does the first and 2nd year cliquiness of med school continue into third year or dissipate?

There's usually 1-3 classmates on a rotation with you. You don't get to select them. It's a good way to get to know a few of your classmates better. It's also a good way to find out who the gunners are because when it's just you and them competing for honors, you will get thrown under a bus. You don't get to see the rest of the class much during this time, so it definitely erodes some of the cliques.

I'd have to agree with the above, I think I've spent more time this year (only two months in) with my classmates than I did during the first two. Granted the kids in my class are fairly amiable and haven't really seen gunner attitude yet. I think most of the rotation experience rests solely on what type of people you end up teaming with.

My experiences with the most gunnerish of people is when I'm on a rotation where it's another school's home site or when I'm with peers from other schools. It can get a bit brutal.

As long as you look good, there is no reason to worry.

Depends on the school. Youre usually with a smaller group of students but spend more time with them. It's like a shotgun start to a golf tournament.

yeah i would ask your ms4s because it will all depend on your school and which sites you are at.

Every rotation will probably be different. Most of my friends from M1/2 are at different sites than me, but as long as you're friendly and haven't seriously pissed off other people you'll find at least a few people to hang out with at your site. It's easier if you're spending a full year along with other people. If you're in a multi med-school location, make friends with those outside of your current med school.
