Firstly, is low SES something that schools have a cutoff for and consider?
I'll be applying this cycle with the Fee Assistance Program. Is low SES determined through that? Or do you report personal and parental income on primaries?
Abstract: This article guides pre-health students through the fee assistance programs available for health professions application services. It explains
In terms of low SES determination, if you have FAP you're in good shape. If you have EO-1 you're in good shape. If you have both, well, then you're in great shape.
Parent occupation is also considered. SES status is explained in the appendix of the AMCAS guide. I wouldn’t worry about if schools have “cutoffs” because that’s something you can’t control and is already done with and can’t be changed.
There are a few other measures such as geographic zip code, especially where your US schooling is located. The additional information on Pell Grants, subsidized school meal programs, and Head Start also can signal.
