How is SOPHAS doing time-wise?

I e-submitted my application about a month ago, but gave my recommenders a Dec. 1 deadline for recommendations, giving about a month before my first actual deadline. Two of my recommendations are in (meaning they will start calculating GPA) and the third (paper) recommendation was mailed either today or yesterday. Do you know how long (currently) SOPHAS is taking to calculate GPA and get paper recs recorded online?

I had everything in and submitted 11/23 and I haven't been calculated yet. I'm guessing since a lot of the early deadlines were/are 12/1 + 12/15 sophas is probably busy right now. I'll let you know when mine has been processed and keep me updated with yours.
 
mine was submitted on 10/24, got returned, and re-submitted around 11/10. Just got my GPA calculated on 12/1. Hasn't been mailed out yet...... 🙁
 
I e-submitted on November 9th, had my GPA calculated on the 21st. I had to ask SOPHAS to recalculate my GPA and re-verify my application because I had incorrectly labeled some of my classes. They reverified my application on the 24th and then my entire application was sent out on December 1st.
 
I e-submitted on Nov 21st, but nothing has happened since then.
 
Submitted mine 11/23. Verified today. Mailed out this week.

That's frustrating...we submitted the same day and mine are not even verified while yours is mailed out. Silly SOPHAS adding to my stress...

Agreed! Submitted mine 11/20, but it has not been verified either...
 
Yeah I had mine submitted 10/19 and all my transcripts, etc. received by then but didn't get my second recommendation in until 11/29 and still haven't heard anything yet.
 
Not sure if it makes a difference but I submitted mine really early morning (2am) so depending on when you submitted yours, they might have gotten a full work day more for mine. Also, I emailed them (last week) because one of my transcripts has multiple schools on it and I wanted to make sure they knew that--perhaps while checking that out, they decided to just review it? Dunno, but good luck!
 
hey guys, when SOPHAS tells you that your application will go out in their next weekly mailing, do they really mean "next"? I think SOPHAS has a tendency to only do things when you call or email to urge them....
I'm wondering if I should drop them a note
 
FYI.. Friend of a friend submitted 11/24 and has already been verified. If you call I wish you luck....called this morning and the rep read everything right off the paper and was not helpful at all.

They did send it out the following week for me (I think it was on a Monday). But I submitted mine back in October.

yea, I mean, mine was verified early last Tuesday (at 2 am), and nothing happened last week. So I suppose it should be mailed out today. But they haven't done it as of now, it's already 11:30 on the east coast.......

True story: SOPHAS sent my application to schools but never uploaded my GRE scores. I called them to see what the problem was and it turns out that they received my scores but never matched them with my application. Mine you, I picked a SOPHAS school as one of my four free GRE reports back in August. The rep was very nice and matched my score with my application over the phone. Why are we paying an inefficient service so much money? For some schools, it's more expensive to use SOPHAS. 👎
 
Two hours after I called my GPA was verified...hmm...
Glad that they're done but now I have to make sure they actually get sent out.
 
They are still waiting for 1 transcript and 1 reference before they start processing my application....eeeek I hope I am not too late :S

jeez, I think I'm asking too many questions

Now my application has been mailed (in green), but when I click on it, the mailing status still says "not mailed" and there's no "mailed date".

So is it mailed or not? 😕
 
If your application has been mailed, under School Designations it should say: Mailed: #, Not Mailed 0 (unless you haven't designated a personal statement to a school). Mine says Mailed 4: Not mailed:0

If you click on School Designations, you should each school, a date designated, and a mailing date. Mine says: Date designated: 11/09/09 Mailing date: 12/01/09. I'm assuming "Date designated" means the day you e-submit.

I had the same thing happen today. I called and was told that because they are being mailed today this system is lagging in updating but they are being mailed out.
 
I sent my application in a while ago, but my second recommendation letter wasn't sent in until Nov. 27. It's only been two weeks, but I was wondering if anyone who applied around then has been verified by SOPHAS.

I e-submitted 11/14 but my 2nd rec wasn't in till the 25th. I got an email yesterday morning around 8amish that I was verified. This is along with the timeline they gave me when I called them last week to check up on my app. So you should hear something soon. You could try giving them a call to make sure you're in cue 🙂
 
I called about my application today, and they said they are currently having about a 10-day turn around time. They said they're currently verifying applications that were completed 11/29 (which mine was) and the rep I spoke to said mine would probably be done by Monday or Tuesday.

I was verified on the 7th or 8th. They told me that my applications would be mailed out the week of the 14th, but didnt' specify which day.

I just checked the Sophas portal and it says my apps have been mailed out. So that's officially a month since e-submitting though technically about a little less than 3 weeks if we go by the day I had a complete application.

Just to give some processing time for people who are wondering. It really is 3 to 4 weeks.
 
E submitted Nov 28th

References came in a few days ago and was waiting for one transcript that was taking forever, finally came in today and they said my application was verified and will be sent in the next mailing!!!

I guess they start processing before everything is in then, because 1 of 2 transcripts came in today and they verified it today.

I thought I was going to miss a few "deadlines" ...phew!
 
I submitted mine on the 29th and got my email today saying the GPA has been calculated (and correctly!) and was going out in the next mailing!
 
I submitted on Nov. 30th (I am applying for PhD programs) and my GPA was calculated and application was verified today. I received an email about 15 minutes ago saying my application will go out in the next mailing.
 
My gpa was verified on the 7th or 8th. I just checked SOPHAS and my mailing status changed. Applications will be going out today (12/16). I called them on the 15th, not sure if that helped.
 
Has anyone submitted their application this week? I submitted mine to SOPHAS on Tuesday and it looks like from what others have posted on here, that SOPHAS is kind of slow at getting things sent out. All of my transcripts and letters of rec have been received. My gre scores are on their way...does that make the process go faster, since pretty much everything has been received? Anyone want to take a stab at an ETA?? thanks!!
 
When I submitted mine on December 3rd, all of my transcripts and letters of recommendation had been received. I'm still waiting for SOPHAS to verify my application. Based on this thread, I'm guessing it'll be verified next week.

So...I don't really think having all of your materials in speeds up the process all that much. It still seems to take at least 3 weeks!
 
Ugh, sounds like my estimation was too optimistic. Like I said, I submitted December 3rd, and I'm still waiting to be verified. 🙁

Hopefully next week then?

Mine is also saying mailed as of today (the date of it hasn't changed yet, but it says Mailed: 1, Not Mailed: 0).
 
SOPHAS is really sticking to their 4-6 week plan for me :-|... I submitted 12/1, due to a late recommender I was complete 12/2, and still no verification...
 
Completed on 11/29, verified around 12/11, mailed out today.
 
I e-mailed Sophas because I'm out of the country and I got a response saying that it is taking them a FULL 4 WEEKS to process applications. I submitted mine a little bit late-- 12/15 and while it is complete, it's in line to be processed.
 
Whenever I look at the sidebar on SOPHAS, it says:

Mailed: 5, Not mailed: 0

But when I click on it to see the list, they all say "Not mailed" next to them.

Is this happening to anyone else?

That's also what happened to me. It means your app will be mailed out in 1 or 2 days or at least updated with a mailed dated and a status that states "New".
 
I'm starting to think that my GPA won't be calculated in time for the Jan 11th application deadline. Does anyone know if Emory considers an application in on time based on the sophas e-submit date? Or are they one of the schools that must have the application completed and in hand from sophas by the deadline?

I submitted my app 12/15 (considered complete the same day) and am still waiting...I hope they aren't late!
 
I submitted 12/10 and still no word. sigh.

EDIT: Submitted 12/10 and verified 1/6, to go out in next mailing.
